Network Administrator has become a common job title across all career fields. The Network Administration and Security concentration provides students with a background in network administration for supporting users and computing in a networked environment. Coursework in network operating systems, server administration, routers, switches, security, and IP telephony are all embedded in the Network Administration and Security concentration.

This "earn while you learn" model provides industry-relevant, hands-on training that parallels the coursework you will complete at Missoula College. The Information Technology Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program prepares students for entry-level technical support positions in the career field of Computing, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity. Students gain a well-rounded technical background with coursework in data modeling, networking, operating systems, PC hardware, security, coding, programming, and web technologies. Soft skills involving business organization structure, customer service, problem-solving, and writing are emphasized.
Students are offered two options in pursuing the AAS degree in Information Technology. The Programming and App Development option provides students with the skills and abilities for entering careers in the software development industry. The Network Administration and Security option provide students the skills and abilities for entry positions as system administrators and cybersecurity analysts.
